09/25/2026 – Day 17 – “How to Alter Your Past”
“We were sitting in his study. He was holding a scarlet cord.
“I dined it myself,” said the teacher. “I left it in the solution for several days to make sure the dye soaked into every fiber. Do you think it’s possible to undye the cord, to make it white again?”
“I doubt it.”
“It is written: ‘Though your sins are as scarlet, I will make them white as snow.’ It would be like undying the cord.”‘
“Which would be impossible,” I said.
“But it’s even more impossible than that. How do you make sins go from scarlet to white? Sins are sins because they’re already committed. They’re done. They’re part of the past, and the past is finished.”
“Then the only way to alter a sin would be to change the past.”
“Yes, and yet the Scriptures are filled with the promise that God will one day wipe away sin and wash away our guilt. You can’t wipe away sin or cleanse guilt without changing the past.”
“But it’s impossible to change the past.”
“The first recorded miracle of Messiah was the changing of father into wine. But wine is only wine if it’s aged. But the wine of the miracle had no past to be aged. It had to, in a sense, be given a new past. If God can give a past where there was no past, then He can remove a past where there was one.”
“So salvation is the undying of the scarlet cord,” I said.
“Exactly. God doesn’t just forgive the scarlet cord or pretend it isn’t scarlet. He changes its past and, by that changes its reality. He un-dyes it.” “He can do that?” I asked.
“God brought time into existence. God can bring it out of existence.”
“So it’s not simply that everything is the same and we’re forgiven in spite of it. It’s as if we never sinned in the first place.”
“And even more amazing than that. It’s not just as if we never sinned but, in His redemption, it has become that we’ve never sinned. In salvation, the impossible becomes the reality, the guilty becomes innocent, the tainted become pure, the rejected become those who were always beloved children, and our sins which were as scarlet, become… as white as snow.” “
The Mission: Soak in the undying. Receive from heaven your changed, innocent, pure, and beloved past, a past as beautiful and as white as snow.

Comment:
We must always let scripture testify to scripture so we don’t get carried away by Satan’s evil while we are still of this world. Let’s take another hard look at “The New Life in Christ” section in Romans 6: 1-14 and “The Apologetics Study Bible commentary that gives us the context for the very first verse:
“What should we say then? Should we continue in sin in order that grace may multiply?… Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, so that you obey its desires. And do not offer any parts of it to sin as weapons for unrighteousness. But as those who are alive from the dead, offer yourselves to God, and all the parts of yourselves to God as weapons for righteousness. For sin will not rule over you, because you are not under law but under grace.” Romans 6: 1-14. You know what? We can’t stop there, let’s read the “From Slaves of Sin to Slaves of God” conclusion section to Romans Chapter 6 as well. (6: 15-23)
Now the commentary to verse 1:
“6:1 – Paul opposed the prevalent idea (which some espouse even today) of antinomianism. That is, since God saves people by grace (5:21) it does not matter how people live. Paul found this idea abhorrent – completely inconsistent with salvation’s purpose, which is to produce holy lives. The result of entering into Christ should be victory over sin – ultimately but also presently. This mandates every effort to counter sin’s effects in a believer’s life.”
And you know what?: The abhorrent heresy of antinomianism is still with us today!
Note this little DuckduckGo AI search:
“The phrase “be holy, for I am holy” is found in the Bible, specifically in 1 Peter 1:16 and Leviticus 11:44. This verse emphasizes the call for believers to live a life of holiness, reflecting God’s own holiness.” (No worries, it is solid in this case.).
Note – Holiness in these two verses means “to be set apart” (“in the world but NOT of the world!”) – Link below, BibleHub.com has recently positioned itself as one of my short list favorites:
https://biblehub.com/1_peter/1-16.htm
So, as “current” christians, we not only don’t forget our sins but confess them daily. Link below: 100 verses on “confessing our sins in prayer (The prayer order acronym guide: “ACTS” – Adoration; Confession; Thanksgiving and lastly: “Supplication” or, Petitionary prayer.):

Now, finally back to the post on Jonathan Cahn’s “The Book of Mysteries”:
Do you think that anyone is going to come up to us in heaven and say: “Do you remember the time when you committed that terrible sin ….?”
“As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” Psalm 103:12
And I will close this post with commentary from John Gill, my “human messenger”closer. haha
