The Bread, The Prisoner, And The Dance

Tuesday, September 15, 2026

While in prison for his faith in Romania, Richard Wurmbrand received each day a crust of bread and ration of water. He remembered the Lord’s admonition: when you’re persecuted, rejoice, for great is your reward in heaven. So he started rejoicing, dancing to the Lord. One of the guards saw him, and thinking he’d gone crazy, gave him an entire loaf of bread. Wurmbrand thought to himself, “How true! I rejoiced, and great was my reward! So he danced again, but this time he didn’t get any more bread. Messiah said when you’re persecuted, rejoice for great is your reward. Whatever you’re going through, rejoice, because you’re more blessed than someone who has billions of dollars, but doesn’t have what you have. You’ve been saved from hell. You have eternal life and eternal joy. Whatever the problem is, whatever the persecution, whatever the hassle, the conflict, or whatever thing you’re concerned about, rejoice and be blessed. For great and much greater than that is your reward in heaven, and sometimes even on earth, a loaf of bread.

From Message #807 – The End-Time Menorah
Scripture: Matthew 5:11-12

TODAY’S MISSION – Today, in whatever your situation, rejoice in the Lord, give thanks and be exceedingly glad.

Comment:

“Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of Me. Be glad and rejoice, because your reward is great in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Matthew 5:11-12

These two verses conclude Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, “The Beatitudes”.

There is a mystery chain that speaks to the “Eighth Day”, His Kingdom, but for brevity, I will share this with regard to the significance of the menorah from a duckduckgo-AI query:

“What is the signficance of the menorah in Jewish history?”:

“The menorah is a symbol of Jewish identity and faith, representing the light of God and the mission of the Jewish people be a light unto the nations.” It was originally used in the Temple of Jerusalem and has become a central symbol in both ancient and modern Judaism, particularly during the festival of Hanukkah.” And sadly, so many christians miss this: Gentiles and Jews are one body in Christ in His kingdom. That is the only conclusion one can come to after letting scripture testify to scripture. The evidence is clear, reiterated over and over again for emphasis. Why do so many miss this? Thoughts? / Reflections?

It goes on and on, but check this out!:

THE SEVEN JEWISH FEASTS followed by the New Testament significance:

  1. Passover – Exodus 12: Matthew 26: 17-27; Leviticus 23:5 // Crucifixion: John 18:28 1 Corinthians 5:7
  2. Unleavened Bread : Leviticus 23:6-8 // Burial: John 18:28; 1 Corinthians 5:7
  3. First Fruits: Leviticus 23: 9-14; Deuteronomy 26:1-11 // Resurrection: 1 Corinthians 15: 20-23; James 1:18
  4. Pentecost: Leviticus 23: 15-20; Deuteronomy 16:10 // Holy Spirit: Acts 1 & 2
  5. Trumpets: Leviticus 23: 23-25; Numbers 29: 1-6 // Rapture: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 ; Revelation 4:1-6; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; Philippians 3:20-21
  6. Day of Atonement: Leviticus 23:26-32; Zechariah 12:10; Zephaniah 1:14-18; Zechariah 13:1 // 2nd Coming: Matthew 24: 29-30; Luke 21: 21-25-28; Revelation 19:11-21; 2 Thessalonians 19:11-21; 2 Thessalonians 19:11-21; Romans 11:25-27
  7. Tabernacles: Leviticus 23:33-44; Isaiah 65:17-19; Ezekiel 43:7; Micah 4:1-3 // Millenium/Heaven: Revelation 20:1-6; Revelation 21:1-27; Revelation 22:1-6; John 14:1-6

NOTE :

#1 through #4 are Spring Feasts: Feasts Fulfilled at Christ’s First Coming // The Priestly role – Suffering Servant

#5 through #7 are Fall Feasts: Feast to be Fulfilled at Christ’s Second Coming // The Kingly role – Coming King

So – Conclusion: The Old Testament and New Testament are not two books but One. They are not two people groups, but “One body in Christ”!

“These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ”. Colossians 2:17

Your brother in Christ,
